Coastal magnetism at its purest form: take a look at the Nina Ricci 2022 cruise collection

Feminine and lalylike is what usually describes fashion imperium Nina Ricci best. Under the helm of the creative duo Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh the brand has tapped into a new direction: one that is more powerful than ever. The label’s latest cruise collection forms no exception.

Captured on the French Côte d’Azur, the feeling of salt and sand on skin bring a certain coastal magnetism to Nina Ricci’s cruise 2022 collection, designed by Lisi Herrebrugh and Rushemy Botter. Surf culture and other water sports perfectly merge with a more formal wardrobe. Examining scuba gear, wetsuits and swimming costumes – the latter from the Nina Ricci archives – the collection marries bright, minimalist styles with tailoring and elevated body-conscious sportswear. Colors are beachside bright, merging turquoise with violet, mandarin and sunny yellow.

Soft curves and cut-outs are central to the collection’s tailoring pieces. Made from technical taffeta, satin and summer blouclé together compile a wardrobe perfectly suited for long summer days. “We wanted to explore the notion of sensuality of beachwear and water sportswear. It is about revealing and protecting at the same time,” explained Botter and Herrebrugh. Well, that worked out perfectly.
