LOUIS VUITTON LAUNCHES CAMPAIGN FOR GOOD BOYS AND THEIR FAVORITE HUMANS

The chic, cosmopolitan culture of good boys and their favorite humans: the perfect backdrop for a collection, must Pharrell Williams have thought when developing the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2025 menswear collection. The collection captures the unique bond between dog owners and their four-legged best friends, enhancing their daily rituals from park strolls to social gatherings, and treat-time. With a dose of flair only Pharrell can accomplish, his designs translate the city-dwelling dog owner lifestyle into a series of garments and accessories that resonate with LV clients. Drawing inspiration from the dog walkers of New York City, the collection embodies a sense of dapper daywear fused with a spirit of formality. The designs pay homage to the preppy aesthetics of dog shows, reflecting the influence of English heritage sports, and referencing to the Westminster Dog Show that’s held in New York City yearly. Furthermore, the collection features a neutral palette reminiscent of a classic wardrobe, elevated with high-end textures and patterns. But of course, there’s a Pharrell edge to it: from flared suits to skate-short silhouettes, and tailored workwear.

THE NEW DAMIER MOTIF

For the second time, Pharrell Williams introduces a re-imagined Damier motif, reminiscent of argyle, bringing a fresh twist to Louis Vuitton’s iconic chequers. The new pattern appears across various pieces, including jacquard suits, a beige trench coat, and a grey collarless jacket in bouclé. It also features on knit jumpers, tonal shirting, and the lining of a forest green coat with a magnified chevron pattern. The motif extends to denim on a fleece-lined puffer jacket and matching skate shorts, offering a stylish, cohesive look. Additionally, a Dalmatian pattern graces a shearling jacket in intarsia, while a toile de jouy print depicting New York City adorns a burgundy faille v-neck, a tonal black parka, and a twill silk bowling suit.

SHOW-OFFS

The second chapter of the collection enters the world of dog shows with amplified poise and grace. Rosette-embroidered suits in three-piece silhouettes and cropped jackets with shawl collars create a sense of eveningwear refinement. Tailored suits appear in unconventional materials such as sweat-shirting, while a Damier-jacquard navy tracksuit is presented as formalwear. A khaki cotton canvas workwear suit, adorned with mother of pearl buttons, showcases Williams’ ability to blend functionality with LV’s heritage, and his creative vision. The collection’s heritage mood is underscored by a Duke of Windsor knit, and the ultimate gesture of a dog owner’s devotion is captured in a painted portrait of an Italian greyhound on a silk foulard souvenir jacket. If this collection won’t make you a dog-person, nothing will.
