Farfetch pre-order service

Farfetch just announced it has teamed up with some of the moment’s most popular luxury brands, enabling early adopters a chance to secure the it-items of next season. There will be new collection previews on a monthly basis and customers will be able to order the new pieces four weeks ahead of everyone else.

Farfetch views the per-order service as an aim to become more sustainable – both for the participating brands and the company itself. By offering a true pre-production proposition, brands will be able to manage their inventory better. Overall, the main goal is to make Farfetch’s private clients even more loyal – which is, in an industry this competitive, perhaps the most important marker of the new service.

Participating brands

At the moment, ten brands have signed the Farfetch pre-order agreement including Balenciaga, Khaite, Palm Angels, Nanushka, (Farfetch-owned) Off-White, and Oscar de la Renta, the company wrote in a statement.

Whether pre-order services will be the future, is hard to say yet. With the rise of independent brands and see-now-buy-now shows, fashion remains – as always – unpredictable.
