Nina Ricci Spring/Summer 2021
In 1948, the iconic Nina Ricci perfume was launched as a symbol of peace and renewal, life and love, lightness and emotion. The same holds for Nina Ricci’s Spring/Summer 2021 collection, as stated by Rushemy Botter and Lisi Herrebrugh. While they went back to the roots of the brand, they gave it a modern twist. At their salon, they admitted that they do almost everything on their phones; from sketching to photographing. The entire creative process is saved on their iPhones. Therefore, it felt natural (and fun) to incorporate this creative outbursts in their presentation.
They presented their latest collection through the recording of an iPhone screen, showing all images, videos and texts that were involved in the process. Overall it formed a message of hope. Many of the new silhouettes were based on the iconic L’Air du Temps perfume bottle from 1948. Furthermore, the collection shows a balance between the codes of the fashion house and the duo’s tailoring background. Most of all, Herrebrugh and Botter show that simplicity will stand the test of time.
